friday faves in the city: oxenrose

This weeks Friday fave in the city is...Oxenrose! I know if you were visiting SF you wouldn't technically be stopping in for a color or cut, but I do know that there are people who move to new cities and need salon suggestions.  When I first moved to Boston in 2009 I didn't know anyone and had to do a ton of research to find out where to get my haircut, but would have loved if someone gave me their recommendations.  So, this is for the 2 or 3 of you who just moved to SF, or folks who are ready to switch things up.

I was recommended to Oxenrose years ago by a girlfriend and have loved it ever since.  I am really bad at making future appointments, so I have jumped around a bit.  The stylists I request (and the only three I have only seen so I'm sure they are all fantastic) are: Margaret, Jarr and Charles (Jarr pictured).

Not only are the stylists awesome, but...

+cozy seating area with fresh tea and cappuccinos
+beautiful brick walled venue that features lovely art (they are having an art show this evening!)
+lots of wonderful product for sale
+friendly staff who will help squeeze you in ;)
+comfortable shampoo chairs
+easy parking in the neighborhood
+right next to great shopping on Hayes

UPDATE:  After several emails about my Boston stylist recommendations, I wanted to update this post with the salon name: Acote on Newbury Street.  All the stylists are fabulous and I highly recommend it!

deliciously organized 2011 recap!

Hope you all had a fabulous Holiday weekend!  Since we are quickly approaching 2012, I thought I might put together a little recap of 2011 here on Deliciously Organized...

In January, we moved back from Boston to San Francisco into our new home and was part of The Nest:

In February the floral bench got a makeover for the new apartment with a vintage fabric found in the remnant section of Britex.

quick shot of Britex-need to go back ASAP for wedding goodies.

In June, I had a wonderful trip to the farmers market...

Thank you all for being here with me in 2011! I am very blessed to have such amazing readers! I said this last year, and I'll say it again, it would not be the same without you all!

Can't wait to see what 2012 brings!

Happy New Year!!!

going away!

Finally taking off to Lanai today for a little vacation and I couldn't be more excited!  I've been meaning to take a shot of the Boston poster that friends Stephanie & Linds gave me before moving away from Boston (Thank you!!!) and finally snapped a quick pic before we take off.  I framed it in white because there is a little speaker to the right that is black and a dark frame draws more attention to the speaker.  Every time I look at it I think of them and how much I miss them & Boston (daily!).  I'm entertaining the idea of adding color to our old neighborhood, Back Bay with a colored pencil.  Anyway, hope everyone has a nice Father's Day.  See you in a week!

deliciously organized 2010 {a few of my favorites!}

In January, a little paper was added to dress up a medicine cabinet:
In February, the 10 habits of Highly Organized People were discussed {I should re-read this!} and a spring makeover in the bedroom:
In March, I finally tried the mercury glass!
and there was a series on getting organized, including organizing your health
In April, we had a beautiful Spring her in Boston and I made a skirted table
 In May, we got engaged!
In June, fresh strawberry butta and organic body scrubs were made
In July, the bench got a makeover
makeup brushes got organized...

and lastly, a trip back to California...
In August, we finally made it to Martha's Vineyard
and made a very easy go-to meal
In September, I met some wonderful bloggers
& made a trip to Montreal
In October, I tried making apple crisp and apple pie
In November, the bedroom got a little fall makeover
and in December, I thoroughly enjoyed making these ornaments!
thank you so much for reading in 2010!  it would not be the same without you all!
