cabin fever cure
Wow, what a week! Classes were cancelled again today due to the crazy storm that's going to hit Boston...though I've yet to see the snow stick. Anyway, thankfully this allowed me serious time to soak up the third issue of Lonny. Typically I get to see a little here and there due to time, but today was different. I can't express how much I loved this issue. It is by far my most beloved so far...thank you Michelle Adam's and team. In fact, if I were to post all my favorite elements, this post might take us into next week...so just a couple for now.
Well, I guess I posted a lot more than a few! If you can believe it, there is still multitudes of incredible spaces, inspiration and talent within the pages of Lonny. I'm sure most of you have already checked it out, but if not, head on over...

The cover had me at get organized, do it yourself and these stylish sisters:
Then a ton of organizing inspiration followed, with some beautifully styled spaces. I love that the team took such a small space and managed to come up with the perfect solution, the Ikea Pax unit. I'm really digging that it comes in several different finishes. If you live in a small space like me, or have no closet at all, this would be a great option:
Here they've used Ikea's Komplement storage to organize makeup and accessories. These units come in different sizes with several options for the number of compartments they come in, so you can personalize how many you need. It not only looks stylish, but makes mornings more streamlined. I think ordering that cosmetic case by Rubie Green might just be a sure thing too, Valentine's treat?
then talk about deliciously organized, check out Sara Gilbane's lucite:
and I loved seeing Betsy Burnham's work space, it's not unrealistic organized, it's a doable organized. Using white storage boxes keeps items tucked away, but when labeled on the outside it makes things easy to get to. She has used some of my favorites from Container Store, here and here. My second choice would be the ones from Ikea that I've talked about in the past and are found here.
another shot, Tiffany pointed out that even though things look organized here, this space isn't too straight-edge, but more creative and artistic.
Lizzie Bailey had several tips on DIY projects and talks about going bold in small spaces {which I completely agree with}. You can see a peek of her striped wall and bold rug below. Oh and for the record, I'm personally still wanting a piece of campaign furniture to call my own...
I really enjoyed seeing sisters Antonia and Victoria Thompson's contrasting spaces. I can't believe how gorgeous both of their apartments are. Insane.
A peek into Antonia's dreamy apartment:
and then equally as divine, her sister Victoria's:
Can't leave out a little organization from her space, I love the caption:

forget me knot
I just found out my sweet friend Megan has started a blog on wedding inspiration. Always exciting to find a fabulous new blog, but even more exciting when it's a good friend! As a newlywed herself, she has steps and inspiration for those who are tying the knot in their near future.
BUT, as you can see from a few of her own wedding photographs, I'm sure we'll all will be inspired daily...
They could not be any more adorable, I love how their photographs have a beautiful vintage touch. Perfect for the week of love. And I'm just smitten over the inspiration boards she puts together, I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
If I get engaged anytime soon, I know who I'm calling first!
Go check out her blog to learn the ropes on tying the knot!

a good morning
It really was a good morning. I had such a wonderful weekend ice skating and playing around Boston and then today I found out all my classes are cancelled...what are the odds? The sun is actually shining into our apartment, and not only did my boyfriend bring home this adorable heart candle with flowers last night, but he learned how to start the coffee machine. Hey, it's the little things and I'm soaking it up. Do you remember the ikea bookshelf in the background, from my previous organization project? For the few that are wondering, I ended up painting it a light gray and moving it towards the window for now. It was too matchy matchy near the desk. All the extra storage items found a place on an old Container Store bookshelf:
This is right behind our bedroom door and as you can tell there are pipes and wires, etc. Nothing exciting, but all the crafting supplies are here and a stack of magazines that need to be filed. I added the flowers and candle, but to keep it real, they are never there!
anyway, hoping to have a few love posts up this week...until then, I'm going to make a serious to do list {which better involve the school books on the right of my desk} in my new notebook with a big cup of coffee.
happy monday!

light glass
I think the glass pendant in this breakfast nook is fabulous:
and recently found this one at Pottery Barn that is pretty similar:
I could see a few of these being used in many different spaces.
Aren't they fun?
Happy Friday!

Day 2 of SF Showcase Past
Another designer of SF Showcase's past...Palmer Weiss, who participated in last year's showcase and is one of my favorites. Playful and stylish, I enjoy looking at all the different elements in her spaces. These colorful rooms brightened up a snowy day here in Boston, I know a lot of these have been around in the blogging world, but hopefully they inspire again today.
