The cover had me at get organized, do it yourself and these stylish sisters:
Then a ton of organizing inspiration followed, with some beautifully styled spaces. I love that the team took such a small space and managed to come up with the perfect solution, the Ikea Pax unit. I'm really digging that it comes in several different finishes. If you live in a small space like me, or have no closet at all, this would be a great option:
Here they've used Ikea's Komplement storage to organize makeup and accessories. These units come in different sizes with several options for the number of compartments they come in, so you can personalize how many you need. It not only looks stylish, but makes mornings more streamlined. I think ordering that cosmetic case by Rubie Green might just be a sure thing too, Valentine's treat?
then talk about deliciously organized, check out Sara Gilbane's lucite:
and I loved seeing Betsy Burnham's work space, it's not unrealistic organized, it's a doable organized. Using white storage boxes keeps items tucked away, but when labeled on the outside it makes things easy to get to. She has used some of my favorites from Container Store, here and here. My second choice would be the ones from Ikea that I've talked about in the past and are found here.
another shot, Tiffany pointed out that even though things look organized here, this space isn't too straight-edge, but more creative and artistic.
Lizzie Bailey had several tips on DIY projects and talks about going bold in small spaces {which I completely agree with}. You can see a peek of her striped wall and bold rug below. Oh and for the record, I'm personally still wanting a piece of campaign furniture to call my own...
I really enjoyed seeing sisters Antonia and Victoria Thompson's contrasting spaces. I can't believe how gorgeous both of their apartments are. Insane.
A peek into Antonia's dreamy apartment:
and then equally as divine, her sister Victoria's:
Can't leave out a little organization from her space, I love the caption:
Well, I guess I posted a lot more than a few! If you can believe it, there is still multitudes of incredible spaces, inspiration and talent within the pages of Lonny. I'm sure most of you have already checked it out, but if not, head on over...

ReplyDeleteI wish Lonny was a paper mag so I could carry it around with me all day. I saw a great mirror, and it's too bad you don't live closer b/c you could buy the campaign desk I'm refinishing to sell. It was really a steal! http://meditationsonlifeandstyle.blogspot.com/2010/02/weekend-wrap-up.html
ReplyDeleteYay for cancelled classes! Hope you enjoyed your day off.
ReplyDeleteI'm off to check this out more in depth now!
This was my favorite issue so far as well. I want to organize all of my jewelry the way they showed in the below pictures and I am definitely going to have to buy that cosmetic case!
ReplyDeleteEye candy overload! Too much to love haha :) Enjoy your snow day!
ReplyDeletelooking at these pictures makes me want to say something like: "I want everythiiiiiiiing!
ReplyDeletegreat blog :)
Ahhh this was my least favorite issue yet - starting with the cover! I loved the couch and pillows - but there is NOTHING above them but an empty beige wall! I thought that was so blah and thought there were plenty of better options for the cover. And while I loved seeing into both sisters' apartments (Victoria's was my preference), their story was over 50 pages of the issue! I thought that was a bit much for one story...
ReplyDeleteOk, Debbie Downer aside. I am insanely impressed by Michelle Adams, Patrick Cline, and team and LOVE Lonny. And there were plenty of images I saved off this issue, it just wasn't my fave. Excited for the next issue, though!
Cheers,
Alaina
p.s. I think that photograph of the fireplace might be my favorite image from issue 3. I can't stop looking at it!! All the details. Love the smoke stain no the mantel.

ReplyDeleteLove this! I love Lonny and how great when it focuses on organization. Heaven!
ReplyDeleteBut, I would love if it was a print mag, wouldn't you? I understand the reasons why not, I really do. But a girl can wish, right?
Ooh I wonder where this jewelry box is from? It's just what I have been looking for.
