get your groove back green smoothie.

I get so jazzed over everyone's positive feed back on health posts.  Seriously.  Huge smiles from reading your comments.  Let's start off with a basic green smoothie for the people who are interested.  It really doesn't look that appetizing here, but it's an easy green smoothie to make that tastes pretty good.

1 cup of organic kale with stems removed {I like to cut it up with kitchen shears before I put it in the blender}
1/2 cup of organic almond milk
1 cup of frozen organic strawberries
1 organic banana
1 tablespoon of chia seeds {I purchased this brand because there was an IRC on the package for $1.00 off}
*handful of fresh raspberries {you don't need them, I had some on hand}

If you add 1/2 cup of cold water or ice, this will make it easier to drink.  I don't mind it without, but it goes down much better with more liquid in the mix.

Mix all ingredients together in the blender & drink up while it's cold.  Always best when it's cold!

I'll get another one up soon.  Feel free to leave comments on how you thought it tasted, or your variations.

Enjoy!

  6. Looks delish! Gulp. I made some healthy cookies today for my husband. He gave me the recipe. Oats, dried cherries, coconut oil, honey, molasses, sweet potatoes, and nuts....and some hemp seeds. I must say they taste so good. I had a cup of fruit rouge herb tea...antioxidant. Now I need to make this!

  9. Green smoothies are a big hit in my family - even my vegetable husband has gotten on board with them. My favorite it super simple:

    Couple handfuls of spinach
    One whole banana
    OJ for the liquid

    Blend and serve! Easy peasy. I've been adding in some vanilla yogurt lately too.
