It's NYE, time to get ready!

This year I'm bummed to say I most likely will be taking it easy this NYE because I've been sick...sad face.  Thankfully Tiffany will be going out and having some fun.  Last year we were lucky to spend the Holiday together.  One of our favorite parts of the entire night is getting ready.  Isn't it yours?

We've put together some of our favorite makeup products that we use while getting ready.    The products listed are mainly for a smokey eye, which is our favorite.  If you 've never tried a smokey eye before, NYE is a wonderful time to try it out.  {There are several tutorial links at the end of this post}

Our favorite base:

Did you know that now you can customize your own color palette at MACI re-created a palette that I bought a while back that has the colors for the perfect smokey eye:

 Here is a wonderful day to day palette too:

This color is best for the outer edge of the eye:

If you don't already have a favorite eyeliner, this one by Stila is wonderful and easy to use:

But, if you rather not use any eyeliner, you can use a small brush to apply black shadow to trace the upper and lower lashes {whatever you have at home will work}.  All products seem to add up so quickly...so best to use what you already have on hand!

Favorite Mascara to finish it off:
If you really want to get crazy, false eye lashes can make a smokey eye look dramatic fast.  These ones by Shu Uemura are wonderful and will last FOREVER:

If you plan to try out a smokey eye this year, you can read step by step instructions here, here or  here.  To finish off a smokey eye we love doing a nude lip.  Typically you don't want to do big lips with big eyes.

Oh and any form of these would due to finish off a smokey eye...a girl can dream:

In many cultures, wearing red brings good luck in the new year!

Thank you for making Deliciously Organized wonderful in 2009! We hope everyone has a safe, fun and spectacular NYE!

Happy New Year's Eve!

  5. Wish I was going out in my sparkly shoes and smokey eyes. Unfortunately, my NYE will be alot more low key and probably involve watching the ball on TV :) Happy 2010!
