The beginning of a New Year is always, well to me, a fresh start.
Even though it's winter, I like to do a little early spring cleaning in my home.
Filing away old records, school work and bills are the boring stuff...BUT, getting a new planner, calendar and organizing inspiration files and making my desk more functional can be in a way fun.
Call me crazy.
I also love purging old stuff that is taking up space and of course
I might be slightly obsessed with organizing...
Anyway, I got way too excited when I unwrapped my new one for 2010. I've used this one before and adore it from Paper Source and it's now on sale... if you haven't purchased a planner yet, it's a nice choice:
I have to be able to see the full month, so my tip {well...a few lovely ladies taught me this one a while back that I worked with} is to paperclip the month to the week for easy access.
I have used the Sarah Pinto ones before and highly recommend them, I mentioned them a while back.
*UPDATE*
I finally found the last planner I wanted to recommend. For some reason I was unable to find it when I searched before. Today I found it on the Love List! It's the Weekly Desk Planner by Gallery Leather. This one is awesome and I used it for many years in the past. You can also personalize it and there are several colors:

If you are looking for a wall calendar, these ones by Paper Source are some of my favorites. The best part is...you can frame them when the month has passed.

Speaking of fresh starts...
Speaking of fresh starts...
I did make one resolution this year, not a huge list like other years. It's really simple: "do what I say" which is exactly how it sounds. If I were to just do what I said I would do, {i.e. start practicing yoga* again or eat healthier*} all my goals from the beginning of the year would have been met by now. Like the old saying goes, "you can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?"

So TRUE. This year I plan on talking the talk and walking the walk, well said.
ReplyDeleteLovely images, I need to organize my office/bf office. I have papers and mail piling up. This weekend I plan on catching up on house painting I have been needing to do for some time now!
Love the idea of the french memo board in the first pic, I'm book marking that pic as we speak!
ReplyDeleteI love the desk and chair of the first image caught my eye with the lovely robins egg blue. Scrolling down and reading, I agree I am a spring cleaner in winter time especially after the christmas ornaments come down. Love the calendars. I will check out the paper source today I have one in my hood!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the share.
Love all those rooms!!! A great idea on the resolutions...maybe I need to rethink mine :)
ReplyDeleteI ove to organzine too. It just makes me happy to have things in place.
ReplyDeleteI just need to get off the computer and do some of the projects that I keep reading about online:)
Yay ~~ a new year!!!
ReplyDeleteI love getting organized! Our home renovation is starting, and I am loving all these beautiful images for inspiration!!
xoxo
I might be slightly obsessed with that last office space. SO pretty
ReplyDeleteI have purging my closets and drawers for 2 days now and have come to the conclusion I may have a hoarding disease! However, that just calls for cute boxes and labels so that's my next step...Happy New Year! (and I couldn't agree more about how exciting starting a new planner is)
ReplyDeleteThank you for inspiring me to get going with my mission organization!! The chair in that first pic...sigh...LOVE! Happy new year girls!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore organizing my office space - especially since I spend the most time there!! :)
ReplyDeleteTotally agree on the fresh start- that's what I am all about right now! :) Also desp need to get my 2010 calendar for my planner... mine's Kate Spade! Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteCarlee- What a great post. I am going to borrow (with credit to you) a couple of the images for my post tomorrow. We have a lot of the same ideas for 2010. I'm ready to get organized over here. I just WISH my home office could look as lovely as one of these. xx- brooke
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with organizing too and I love all these pictures. I'm in the middle of organizing all my craft supplies and making lists of things to get at the container store :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I get in the mood to organize-watch out! I'll be at it for days, but isn't it worth the time to have an organized space?
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of framing the calendar pages.
Oh geez...I better get myself going! One Kings Lane is having a sale on these beautiful planners tomorrow 1/5 and I might have to get one!
ReplyDeletelove all the organizing tips! I need inspiration for the new year. I especially love the wall filled with photos and clippings. Just inspirational and visible go-to's.
ReplyDeleteI will not call you crazy, I will call you perfectly, completely sane.
ReplyDeleteI, too, am loving the calming blue office space. Gorgeous.
And thanks for the recommendations for the paper planners. I'm strictly an iCal girl, but am getting lots of questions from people wanting to know of some great paper planners. I see the appeal!
all this talk of organizing has got me all giddy. I am so the same way. also I can't believe I haven't gotten a new planner for this year yet, thanks for the recommendations.
ReplyDeleteI love paper planners too!
ReplyDeleteI used to be OBSESSIVE about my day planner...then I moved into the electronic age and I miss it so. :( I'm still waiting for Franklin Covey to get an iCal version of their printable calendars. Even so, I'm seriously considering getting a to-do planner since writing it down is so much more productive for me than making an electronic list. I love you planner picks!
ReplyDeleteAwesome post! Um, can I please pull up a seat to that first desk. I just fell in love.
ReplyDeleteI adore that first office photo!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited I'm not the only one that is excited to start a new day planner! I actually am using moleskin's (they provide a ton of room to put random notes). Still to be determined if it's a keeper or not!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this post! I am doing the same thing right now!
ReplyDeletePurging the old, bringing in the new, and organizing to my heart's content:)
Thanks for the planner tips....been looking for a good one!
Anna
love the office spaces - it's so much nicer walking into an inspired place to work!
ReplyDeleteHello-I just found your blog! I am an interior designer/professional organizer/blogger so I can totally relate to your passion for design and love of organization. I have enjoyed reading!
ReplyDeleteTake care,

Thanks for the suggestions on the planners. One of my favorite things to do is plan - does that automatically qualify me for a Type A personality? Oh well, I'll claim it.
