to do list.

There is something about a to do list that brings me joy.  Not sure if it's the feeling of releasing the long list of things that need to be done that my mind piles up, or the excitement I feel every time I cross or check something off the list, but they make me happy.  I tend to start them in several different spots and I'm currently trying to keep myself more organized with just one list to work off of.  We'll see how long that lasts...

Do you write a to-do list at the start of your day, week, or perhaps the end of your day in preparation for the morning to come?  Please do share.  I love hearing how people keep their days organized.

  1. I LOVE to-do lists too! They are so satisfying. And it def helps ease some of the anxiety of trying to remember everything. And lots of different colored sharpie pens add to the fun.

I'm working on my to-do list of fun things to do during my first visit to SF later this week!

  2. Although it's not quite as satisfying as crossing to do items off a physical list, I find it most helpful for me to have a digital to do list on Evernote. I sync it with my phone so I can add items on the go :)

  4. It's the crossing things off part that is the most exciting! I keep a to-do list because I am useless without one. But I keep two- one on my phone and one in my diary, just in case I lose one. I tend to add in things as they come up and at the end of the day.

  5. I'm such a forgetful person, I would seriously get nothing done if I didn't have a list. I start my list at the end of the week, I have weekends off so it's easier for me to make a list on Friday, because with one I get more things done also getting some or all things that didn't get done during the week, on weekend and whatever isn't finished, having a recall Sunday evening makes it a lot easier to have everything to go on Monday. :) It's a state of happiness when you've accomplished everything on the list.

  6. I absolutely always am working off a "to do" list! I would be lost without my dayplanner and lists....totally lost! I think you're right about how rewarding it feels to go back and check off a completed item. In fact, I'm so addicted to checking them off, I sometimes go back and write in things to do (that I have already done) just to be able to make that check mark!!! Is that weird, or what?!?!?

  8. I would not get by without to do lists! I keep a white board with the tasks I need to complete for the day at work, and a paper one with all of my around the house stuff. I think it's all about the act of crossing it off!

  9. I'm totally late on the draw here, but I have an addiction to lists and I'm not planning on stopping my obsession. I write my to do list for work every morning the second I get to work (I mean...after I pour coffee). Cross stuff off as I do it, of course. I have personal lists: what to clean at home, projects I'm working on, goals for my business, personal goals, gardening goals. Meals for the week lists, pro/con lists. You name it, I list it! And they all have to be hand written. On awesome paper. With an awesome pen.
