hooks for handbags + space bags

I've been organizing my closet to make room for all my winter clothes {Boston is chilly my friends}so creating more closet space has been on my mind.  In the latest Lonny I thought the row of hooks for handbags was very creative.  Such a space saver and keeps your handbags in pristine condition! AND of course keeps them all very organized. Anyone ever try this?

I wish I could say that I've incorporated this space saving technique in my own home, but instead my recent trick is not near as creative.  Most recently I've been using space bags to create more space in my home.  I've always known they've existed, I've just never been compelled to give them a whirl {weird infomercials always come to mind}.  Anyway, I'm not embarrassed to say tried I've them and I love them. I pretty much vacuumed all the air out of our house over the weekend {I used our tiny handheld dyson}...now bags and bags of spring and summer clothes are hidden behind a chair in the living room in two tiny/very thin bags instead of in unorganized bags hidden all over the house.  Love saving space.  Have you all been using space bags for years?  Do spill.

  6. This cressing room/closet is amazing! I love the idea of using hooks to line up all the bags.
I use and love space bags!!! We have very little storage space in our house and must chnage clothing out seasonally. I espeacially love them for sweaters and coats. They flatten down to nothing and keep the bugs out.

  15. Carlee,
I do hooks for my handbags, totes etc. Not the way pictured in Lonny, but on the blank wall in my "sort of" walk-in closet. My closet is basically a bit over 4 feet square. Had to remove the door to hang hooks so I bought a portable plastic wardrobe cover for my in season clothes. I use SpaceBags for out of season and have 10 Rubbermaid bins under the bed. helps keep cat hair off things.

  16. Such an amazing closet! I always have trouble storing my bags, but I will see if I can come up with this kind of concept for my own closet. Thanks for the great idea!

  17. its a great closet, while closets provide a safe and organized keeping for clothing and shoes, none is meant for purses and other things, this one is just too good for storage, even the dresser with mirror is cool, i like the set up

  18. This is a great storage idea! I've also been re-organizing my closets as I swap summer clothes for winter clothes. My goal is for my closets to look as organized as this!
    Thanks for sharing!

  19. I love this hook for handbags idea! We did our closet in elfa last year and I reserved a high shelf for my purses - problem being they don't all stand up great and they fall all over each other - this looks like the perfect solution!

  20. Everyone that wants to try this method please just be careful that it doesn't stretch or worse wreck your bag straps ie. if bags are heavy ;)

Love the "walk in robe" though.
