+ DIY: DELICIOUS SCRUB

Delicious Scrub Recipe

1 cup organic cane sugar
1/3 cup celtic sea salt
1/2 cup organic coconut oil
2-3 tablespoons almond oil
1 tablespoon vitamin e
Lavender Essential Oil

Scrubs are a wonderful way to gently exfoliate and leave you feeling fresh and renewed. Making your own is a breeze, and most the time you can use what you already have at home. I start with a recycled jar, and then add a little bit of the salt, sugar, coconut oil {one at a time so I can control the consistency} and then add the rest of the ingredients.

Let me know your thoughts if you try it out!

  9. Great idea! I have a body scrub I make up myself for in the shower. I just use raw sugar (the grains are a bit bigger), olive oil, and about 10 drops of whatever essential oil I'm loving at the moment. Works a treat, and so cheap!

  25. I tried the brown sugar scrub last night... gross! I used virgin, all natural olive oil instead of evoo, though.

    1. That's a bummer- Definitely makes a difference if you use olive oil vs. almond or coconut though...smell, consistency, etc. is all not going to be the same.

  26. Just tried brown sugar, smells awful. Followed the ingredients to a T! Very runny also, suppose the consistency could be based on the amount of oil, but I used the amount listed.

    1. Oh, this recipe calls for cane sugar- not brown sugar.

Brown sugar would not give you the same consistency... I've never used brown sugar in any scrubs- can't help you out there. I would add more sugar though if it's runny.

    2. Above it actually does give a recipe for brown sugar scrub (For a brown sugar scrub, try 2 cups brown sugar, 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil, 1/4 cup honey and 1 teaspoon of vanilla) Is there brown cane sugar???

    3. You are so right. Apologize- I haven't tried the brown sugar before, I included it as I had probably seen the recipe in a magazine or something. I will take it down immediately. Again, apologies.

  30. How much lavender oil did everyone add to this?

    1. Hi Renee- I would say 15-30 drops. It really depends on how fragrant you want the scrub to be.
