breathing mid week

Years ago Tiffany bought Christy Turlington's book, Living Yoga: Creating a Life Practice...before the Yoga hype...and long before the lululemon craze and was extremely influenced by Christy's story behind Yoga. I have to admit I was kinda not into the idea. Exercise did not mean moving slow to me and clearly as an organizing mover and shaker I didn't want to breathe slow... let alone sit still.

Turns out Tiffany was onto something. Years later I seem to feel the absolute opposite. I've been practicing for a couple of years but have taken my practice further within the past year. Besides being totally relaxed and centered, I find I'm more creative and focused after a class. I want to dedicate this post to yoga with a huge amount of gratitude for what I'm realizing keeps me breathing mid week...

It all began with her:

then came the product...

the go to: lululemon pants {very durable & great for lounging around the house watching Jeff Lewis or taking a long run or dance class} and anything else by them...I have their mat and tops...love love

Zobha tops {they are having an amazing giveaway right now too, check it out here}:

If you haven't yet, try Athleta, their clothes are actually as durable as lululemon and their tunics/wraps are really cozy:

Plank is a fun company that puts a twist on the normal mat:

and some reads:

thank you Martha for this newer one...

the obvious:

and then some delish studios:

This is actually a studio from back in San Francisco, I love how inviting this studio feels:

Gwyneth Paltrow's Studio:

outside studio:

I'm very into this eco-friendly studio done by Carter Burton Home:

and lastly, a non realistic studio would be nice too:

This post may or may not apply to you...but either way I hope you have a calm and relaxing day and possibly take a minute out for a mid week breath!

  1. What a serene post! I've taken a yoga class a few times and really enjoy it. I love Body & Soul and would die to get into a zen, peaceful mode in ANY of those studios! :)

  2. I took yoga back in law school a lot (it was the perfect antidote to the stress) and I picked it up again a little last year, but I really need to start doing it again more regularly. It really does make a huge difference - both physically and mentally. Thanks for the post, it may be the kick in the pants I need to get myself in gear to start again.

  3. I adore this post; it is so important to express gratitude and that is something that yoga has taught me to do as well. Yoga has improved the quality of my life too and I love to hear others share that story!
