slowing down + greens

I've been busy lately, eating unhealthy and not finding time to exercise.  It's time to find a way to slow down and take care of what's important.  My health.

Anyone else feeling that way?

This week I'm going to try very hard to start my days off with a smoothie and get a good amount of greens in throughout the day.  I forced myself to find 30 minutes to go to the grocery store today & stock up on the green stuff.  Looking inside my fridge right now makes me happy.

Over the weekend I also allowed myself to just hang out in bed and watch tv for a little while...even though my monstrous to-do list was waiting for me to get up.  It was pure bliss.

Bottom line- I'm going to try and make more time for health this week.  Starting with smoothies in the mornings.

I will try to post recipes for those who are interested.  Let me know if you are!

make some time for yourself this week :)

  4. I could so do with a cleanse as well. I find that because I am so busy I grab food on the go sometimes which isn't as healthy as it could be. Thanks for inspiring me to be more healthy.

  5. Sounds like we're on the same wavelength at present. I'd love to know what you put in your smoothies. I make mine with 2 or 3 kale leaves, a kiwi fruit, some pineapple, an orange and ginger. I get the goodness of the kale but it tastes like fruit. I feel amazing on the days I have a smoothie. Good luck with your health focus this week.

  13. Yes! I am in exactly the same position. Working too hard and not finding time to exercise or eat properly and healthily. I hate it - I'm going to take a leaf out of your book and get on the case - thank you for the prod in the right direction!

  15. I'm right there with you! To help me get in the swing of things, I made some grab'n'go breakfasts this weekend (these muffins from my blog - http://littlebitsofdelight.blogspot.com/2011/05/tasty-bites-fun-with-molasses.html)

    So far, so good!

  16. WOW. it's like you are reading my mind. I have been feeling the same way lately and have recently started making some changes in what I eat and even went to a gym class today that was so hard I hyperventilated and almost passed out (it was slightly embarrassing). Anyway, I'd love to see what healthy things you come up with! Let us know if you come up with any yummy smoothies!!

  17. Starting your day off with a smoothie makes a world of difference (at least for me). I've also been guilty of putting my health on the back-burner, but I try to make it my #1 priority every day!

  18. I commented yesterday, but I'm wondering if it has hit your junk mail. I too love the idea of slowing down, you have inspired me to think more about my health, both physically and emotionally too. Thank you.

  20. Your pictures are delicious!

I've been busy with midterms and I'm currently in the lull before FINALS!!!!1 hit me. I'm actually not sure where November went - it just felt like one big long week where I've been trying to catch up on my studying and schoolwork and a minimum of personal hygiene and sleep.

Then today I got a migraine and cancelled my plans. I caught up on sleep, woke up around dinner time, made "pizza" (a loose description of the mound of vegetables and sesame seed crust), and rewrote the important/urgent stuff on my to-do list, and caught up on laundry and stuff.
