organizing by color...

I know organizing books by color is nothing new, but every time I see a photograph with rows of color coordinated books, it makes me happy.

Doesn't it make for gorgeous art?

We don't have built-ins in our apartment, but I would love to have them in my next place...

The wall of books in this room literally creates an art piece against all that white furniture.  So fabulous...

  4. I'm so glad I happened upon your blog. Every post seems to relate to something I am currently working on or thinking about. No joke, I had my books at my feet color coordinating them when I took this break to blog. :)

  9. I do this with the clothes in my closet; it's probably a little OCD, but I love looking at my closet!

  10. Very joyful! Weirdly though, I only tend to like the colour co-ordinated book look in white bookcases, not so much wooden or darker bookcases. I really love those bookcases that go over or around doorways like the one in the first pic..... I've always coveted one of those.

  11. I recently read a statement from a designer that said never to sort your books by color. He felt it was more interesting to mix them up. I don't think he could be more wrong and these pictures are evidence!
