I'm loving the striped rugs lately:
I adore how the florals are mixed with the stripes here:
and the more modern stripes:
and a bit traditional room with stripes {I would really like to take that pup by the way}:
So, I couldn't pass up this striped rug for $6 at a local store that I found. Our room is very tiny...so it works perfectly.
I also picked up this fabric for a steal. I knew I wanted to use pieces of it to bring a little spring into this space:
I cut out a couple of the flowers from the yard of fabric and framed them. I also made another DIY no sew pillow with the fabric {seen below} and do not like it, not a fan at all.
For now, I've borrowed the pillows from the sofa and repeated the black frame in these pillows below.
Another thrift store find on the bedside table...this little bowl:
and I've covered a few books in this paper from paper source that you can see on the bedside shelf {one sheet covered three books}.
This is before I took the wild blue lamp out of the bedroom...I still think I like it in it's other spot better. And I believe I've overused this dec pillow one too many times. I guess I really like it...
Anyway, that's it...just a couple of little changes for the Spring. I only have a few more projects that I've been working on that I first mentioned here and here. Today you can see another tiny project I've been working on over at Live Creating Yourself.
Off to class...hope everyone had a nice weekend!

I love the striped rugs too. And it seems to fit so perfectly in your space. Love your style and all your little touches you add too!!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you incorporated the fabric. I love Nate's NYC apartment, too.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures in the black frames hung above your pillows with the black trim squares are perfect.
ReplyDeleteWill you share the source of your $6.00 striped rug? I bought the Aspen rug that's similar to the Something's Gotta Give rug, but would be happy with stripes in every room. And I'm not too proud to duct tape several small rugs together if the price is right.
