what to do with pounds of apples...

This is right where I want to be...on this porch, in that chair, facing that beach. Sipping a mug of hot apple cider. Last weekend we came home with a TON of apples and I unfortunately didn't have the chance to make any apple dishes, BUT I quickly whipped up some delicious apple cider and have to share this recipe with you. It's that good...originally found on allrecipes.com, but I switched it up a bit.

Here is what I did:

6 cups of cider {I juiced the apples we brought home}
1/4 cup of real maple syrup
6 cloves
1 orange peel
1 lemon peel
2 Cinnamon sticks

Apple juice goes into saucepan, add syrup, the rest of the ingredients go in a cheese cloth and then simmer for 10 minutes without letting it boil. Enjoy!

  1. mmmmmmm, I'll bring the rum over and then we can really enjoy it. I might even make an owl out of lemons peels for you too :)
