get low & creative

Over the weekend I ran a half marathon untrained and injured my IT band {runs from the hip to the lower knee...had no idea what this was until yesterday}. A very stupid move on my part. I'm telling you this to encourage you to NOT run untrained!

At any rate, a bed lower to the floor like below would be very helpful right now...

I found this image and absolutely adore the idea of putting a large canvas behind a bed to create a covering for the wall. Kind of a renter's dream if you have a piece this big!

Painting a screen a bright color and putting it flat against the wall creates a headboard/wall covering that looks pulled together and fresh. I also really love the color palette in this room. Gorgeous room!

  2. Love the mock headboards. I have a screen up in one of mine, but it needs some extra work to be a standout like this. :-)

Have had IT injuries- and run without enough training. Icebaths-- it sucks but it really does help. And do you know the stretch where -while standing- you cross your ankle over the opposite knee and squat slightly (like you're going to sit "Indian style.") Probably too painful to do right now but definitely helps with the IT band. Good luck!!

    Cute beds though!

  4. LOVE that top bed. Why not be closer to the floor..then you can just crawl in, right?

Cannot believe you ran that race! great job and I hope you feel better soon!

  5. love that top one as well-I've been wanting a similar style in leather-but they all seem to be about 10K! I had tendinitis in my IT band in college-it's really painful-so sorry!

  11. Hope you're feeling better soon. I love both of these ideas, particularly the use of a screen as a headboard and focal point of a room. Perfect for us renters who can't paint or wallpaper the wall!

  17. LOVE both bedrooms, but the bottom one really speaks to me. Great color scheme (although I'd probably paint the walls a nice gray) & I love the polka dot coat hanging from the headboard, it really makes the room.

    Hope you're feeling better!

  18. So sorry about your IT band! Injuries, ack! But, loving these pics! I really really love the painted screen that sort of becomes part of the wall. Nice!

  19. Carlee, you couldn't have posted this at a better time. For everyone else, I am currently in the process of moving and finding a new place to rent. This would be a perfect non-permenant idea. I love the screen behind the bed. Great when you're short on space; you get a painting backdrop and a headboard all-in-one! Fab post. Miss you! xoxo
